On August 9, the two-day sitting of the Fifth joint Turkmen-Iranian Commission on consular, border and custom issues held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan completed. Summing up the results of the negotiations the bilateral Memorandum was signed.
The IRI delegation headed by the Vice Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Iran expressed deep gratitude to the Turkmen government for the high-level meeting held on the eve of the visit of the Islamic Republic of Iran President to Turkmenistan.
During the sitting the interlocutors discussed the main aspects of Turkmen-Iranian co-operation and agreed that the issues they had not considered during the meeting would be discussed within the framework of the next negotiations to be held within the next few months.
Confirming the readiness to further development of intergovernmental co-operation the participants assured that agreements reached during the meeting would promote developing trading and economic relations and further strengthening the traditional bonds of friendship and brotherhood connecting two neighboring nations.
The head of the Iranian delegation noted that the meeting would activate and intensify bilateral mutually beneficial co-operation. He said that the beauty and magnificence of Ashgabat, hospitality and cordiality of the Turkmen people had produced unforgettable impressions upon the Iranian representatives. |
