Imamnazar new post control is to be put into operation on the Turkmen-Afghan border

Imamnazar new post control meeting the international standards was built on the territory of the Atamurat Etrap, Lebap Velayat. All necessary conditions for efficient work, prompt and thorough inspection of luggage and motor transport were created there. Putting this important object into operation will enable to bring the service of cargo traffic crossing the Turkmen-Afghan border up to highest standards and block the way to smuggle goods including drugs.

Construction of over 100-km Atamurat-Imamnazar motor road also completed. The both objects will serve as symbols of friendship and profitable co-operation between two countries and peoples, successful development of intergovernmental relations, new chapter of the history created by the Turkmen-Afghan high-level negotiations held in Ashgabat on July 5-6, 2007.

The solemn ceremony of putting new post control into operation is to be held on August 13. In the nearest future it is planned to construct the analogue post on the right bank of the Amu Darya River, in the Farap etrap at the Turkmen-Uzbek border.
