Telecommunications, telemetry, information technologies and equipment international exhibition closed in Ashgabat On September 15, the Turkmentel-2007 telecommunications, telemetry, information technologies and equipment international exhibition was closed at the Exhibition Center in Ashgabat.
The representative technology exhibition brought together the world’s telecommunications equipment producers, leading distributors and providers from different countries worldwide, the representatives of the well-known Turkmen and foreign companies and firms successfully operating on the telecommunications and computer technologies market under the domes of the magnificent Exhibition Center.
Thousands of the people and guests of Ashgabat, including the participants of the international scientific and practical conference arranged in the framework of the exhibition visited it within two days. The exposition vividly demonstrated the high level of development of the national communications and telecommunications sector proved by a variety of telecommunications products and equipment meeting the international quality standards presented at the exhibition premises.
The expositions of the Turkmenpochta State Mail Service Company providing a broad range of services, the Turkmentelecom State Telecommunications Company and the Turkmenteleradiomerkezi State Enterprise abundant in telecommunications innovations, the Altyn Asyr Cellular Communications Enterprise widely applying latest telecommunications technologies and the Ashgabat telephone network were of intense interest to the visitors and specialists.
The people and guests of the Turkmen capital received a splendid opportunity to get acquainted with the activity of the well-known foreign companies and producers, who had arranged numerous expositions at the Exhibition Center. These included Eurasia Trans Ltd (Great Britain), one of Turkmenistan’s dependable partners, the exclusive dealer delivering professional, television broadcasting equipment and the Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd (China) that had equipped digital telephone exchanges throughout the country with up-to-date equipment.
A well-known American network engineering company Cisco, the group of companies Liebherr (Switzerland), a satellite telecoms operator in Russia Moscow Teleport and the Ineranet Company presented their potentialities at the exhibition. The Turkmen telecommunications firms Aga Birleshik, Sakher, Hasabat, Intek, Altyn Sovda considerably expanded the range of customers through participating in the exhibition. The high-quality products manufactured by the group of companies Advis and Alt RE JSC needed no special advertising.
The participants visited the landmarks of the Turkmen capital – the National Museum of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen Carpet Museum and walked along the Path of Health.

Communication scientific and practical forum closed in Ashgabat On September 15, the two-day Telecommunications, Telemetry, Information Techniques and Broadcasting Equipment Scientific Conference closed in Ashgabat.
The high-ranking official of the relevant ministries, the leading telecommunications specialists, the scientists and the representatives of the world business circles – the telecommunications companies and state-run enterprises from different countries with whom Turkmen telecommunications workers had been bound with close and mutually advantageous co-operation took part in the representative forum organised by the Ministry of Communications and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
The participants summed up mutually advantageous co-operation developed over many years between Turkmenistan and its dependable partners and discussed a broad range of issues of furthering collaboration. The participants exchanged the information on project implementation and discussed the important aspects of partnership built on confidence, respect and mutual benefit. Those speaking at the conference noted that the national telecommunications infrastructure started to develop after Turkmenistan gained independence.
The participants were unanimous that the information on companies’ resource potential, the study of the scientific and technological advances and current research activity in communication and information technology sector, the analysis of development of Turkmen telecommunications technology market would enable to accomplish a great number of investment projects aimed at improving and expanding communications services in Turkmenistan and enhancing fruitful contacts among peoples worldwide.
A broad range of the issues defining the future trends and format of business partnership was discussed at the final session. The reports on taxation for foreign investments in Turkmen communications sector, governmental support of the projects on procurement and communications infrastructure construction were of particular interest. The comparative analysis of the investment conditions in Turkmenistan and other countries worldwide was presented at the discussion. The participants stated that in recent years the government of Turkmenistan had ensured the legal protection of foreign investors from the possible risks and continued to put much effort to promote mutually advantageous co-operation. The guests said that the Ashgabat meeting provided an opportunity to co-ordinate the vectors of co-operation enhanced to bring the priority sector of Turkmen economy up to a world level.
