President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov paid the official visit the Republic of Tajikistan. On October 5, the Turkmen-Tajik summit talks marked with the spirit of sincere friendship, mutual respect and constructive approach and crowned with outstanding success were held at the Presidential Residence in Dushanbe. The leaders of the two states signed a package of the bilateral documents including the Treaty on Friendship and Co-Operation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan. Thus, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan vividly demonstrated their steadfast adherence to the traditions of friendship, brotherhood and goodwill, the reciprocal intention to enhance and intensify long-term fruitful partnership.
On the second day of the official visit to Tajikistan the Turkmen leader visited the Khoji Kamol farmers association, one of the best agricultural associations in the country, and the complex of the enterprises affiliated with the Tajik Aluminum Company.
In the morning Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov arrived in Tursunzade, Tajikistan’s largest industrial center. The town is located 40 km far from Dushanbe in the region famous for the agricultural traditions and the medieval historical and architectural monuments.
Chairperson of Tursunzade town B. Atokhoja, the official persons and the members of the local public organisations sincerely greeted Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov at the gateway to the town. Cordially greeting the Turkmen leader the head of the town council expressed gratitude for the honour to receive the President of Turkmenistan – a true friend of Tajikistan. B. Atakhoja emphasized that the Tajik people took intense interest in the Turkmen-Tajik summit talks and regarded the Turkmen leader’s visit as a pledge of further development of the native land, peace and friendship with the true and dependable neighbour.
Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov thanked for the heartfelt welcome and focused on Turkmenistan’s steadfast adherence to the ties of friendship and brotherhood that united the two nations from ancient times and expressed belief that Turkmen-Tajik relations would be successfully enhanced through implementing joint projects in the social and economic and humanitarian spheres.
Then the President of Turkmenistan visited Khoji Kamol farmers association. The local people cordially greeted the Turkmen leader throughout the entire journey. The heartfelt welcome and the atmosphere of the visit penetrated with hospitality and cordiality, the respect and sincere interest the people of Tajikistan showed in the President of Turkmenistan, his proposals and initiatives on intensification of bilateral co-operation testified to the high international prestige of Turkmenistan and its leader, whose peace-loving and constructive policy was regarded as a major factor for peace and stability in the Central Asian region.
Chairman of the Khoji Kamol farmers association K. Madumarov, the elders cordially greeted Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. Upon exchanging the heartfelt greetings and wishes of good health, wellbeing and happiness a ritual of sacrificial offering was performed. Those gathered offered prayers for the blessings and wellbeing to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
Then the President of Turkmenistan walked around the Khoji Kamol farmers association, where the vineyards occupied a 45-hectare area. Each year local farmers yield 50 tons of ‘sunny’ berries. The local farmers had achieved the outstanding labour results.
Walking around the plantations Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov drew the attention of the members of the Turkmen official delegation to the order and comfort in the plantations.
Sharing the impressions in the conversation with the farmers association’s leadership and local people Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said that he was enchanted with the beauty of that land of plenty, where each centimeter of the land was cared with the diligent hands of local people. The President of Turkmenistan said that the Turkmen people intended to co-operate with the fraternal people of Tajikistan in that sector of agriculture and exchange positive experience that the two diligent peoples had accumulated.
Upon concluding the meeting the Turkmen leader thanked the local farmers for the heartfelt welcome. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that the cordial hospitality extended in the Tajik land was a token of respect to the Turkmen people and wished success the people of Tajikistan in constructive labour.
The meetings on the hospitable land of Tajikistan were continued at the Tajik Aluminum Company State Unitary Enterprise. The local people, the workers of the enterprise cordially greeted the Turkmen people. First Deputy Chairperson of Tursunzade town U. Nurmatov and Talko State Unitary Enterprise Director General S. Sharipov greeted President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and the members of the Turkmen official delegation at the entrance to the enterprise. The honorary guest showed intense interest in metal manufacture and visit the ‘heart’ of the enterprise – the foundry. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov talked to the workers showing keen interest in the history of the enterprise, the manufacturing cycles.
During the conversation with Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov the local workers expressed profound gratitude and said that they were proud that the honorary guest was visiting their enterprise. The workers had watched the TV news on the first day of the Turkmen leader’s visit to Tajikistan and were happy to know that the leaders of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan had agreed on the deliveries of Turkmen electric power to Tajikistan within a five-year period. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said that Turkmenistan was interested in importing the raw materials from Tajikistan to meet the increasing demand of the Turkmen cable plants and the gas concrete mixing plant under construction. In this regard the President of Turkmenistan instructed Vice Premier N. Shaguliev to establish the close contacts with the Tajik partners in that field.
Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov visited the local museum that covered the history of Tursunzade town and the enterprise. A documentary film about the capacities and prospects of development of the Tajik Aluminum Company State Unitary Enterprise was presented to the guests.
Thanking for the interesting excursion the leader of the Turkmen state wrote an entry in the Book of Honorary Guests and bade cordial farewell to the company management.
Then the President of Turkmenistan returned to the Presidential Residence in Gissari Province. In the afternoon Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov left for the Tajik capital to take part in the CIS Summit. |
