The competition among the Major League teams for the gold medals of the Turkmenistan Football Cup became more intense. The current Cup winner Shagadam FC from Turkmenbashi that ranks the fifth is the ‘troublemaker’ in this year’s national tournament.

The team trained by Kurbanmamed Meredov from Turkmenbashi won four successive games. 23-year-old goalkeeper Nikita Gorbunov considerably contributed to the success of the sportsmen from Turkmenbashi. Recently, Nikita has been invited to play for the national combined team in the match with the footballers from Cambodia at the 2010 World Cup elimination tournament.

Perman Begjanov kicked a goal on the 25th minute that enabled Talyp Sporty FC to won Merv FC from Mary, the 2007 National Cup finalist. Nebitchi FC defeated 1-0 Kopetdag FC from Ashgabat.

The football-players of the International Turkmen-Turkish University defeated 5-0 the Dashoguz sportsmen Turan FC. David Sarkisov (21st minute), Hojaakhmed Arazov (34th and 49th minute) and Dovran Allanazarov (88th and 90th minutes) scored the goals.
