Culture & Heritage : A youth orchestra on the Ashgabat stage

A concert presentation by the new youth chamber orchestra arranged by the special music boarding school affiliated with the Turkmen National Conservatoire has become a discovery for the classical music lovers.

The debut of the young artists at the Mukam Palace of the National Cultural Center exceeded all expectations of the audience, musicians and their teachers who watched the students performing with excitement.

The students of the specialized music boarding school join different musical and artistic groups and orchestras including the world-renowned Saparmurat Niyazov violinists’ group. The new artistic group established due to supervisor and conductor Rasul Klychev’s enthusiasm and creative ardour called the school’s growing potential into being. The children together with their teacher who was conducting the orchestra without any notes demonstrated the high level of professional training and enchanted the audience with an outstanding vigour and emotional performance.

The concert programme included the famous classical works as well as modern melodies. The young artists performed Albinoni’s 7th Concerto, Prelude from Holberg's Time by a Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, Symphony for String Orchestra by A. Vivaldi and Joke Polka by J. Strauss.

K. Khojalekova (violoncello) performed J. S. Bach’s works, V. Rasulov (saxophone) performed Liber Tango by a modern Italian composer A. Piazzolla arranged by F. Khudyev, S. Rizaev (violin) performed Torment of Love by F. Kreisler, F.Orlova and S.Yomudova (violinists) "Joke - Souvenir" by I. Frolov and young talented violinist E. Ovezmuradova (violin) performed the Four Seasons, Summer by Antonio Vivaldi.

A talented musician, a graduate of the music boarding school and the Turkmen National Conservatoire O. Karryeva (piano and vocal), whose voice adorned the performance of the artistic group and conveyed the depth and beauty of the old music, performed Ave Maria by J. Caccini.

The chamber music lovers enjoyed the performance presented by the famous orchestra conducted by Rovshen Nepesov, who had taken the new group under the patronage and encouraged the group’s first concert. Let’s hope that the young gifted artists will present us a lot of musical discoveries and impressions.
