Beloved Turkmen people,

I would like to congratulate you cordially on the holiday Oraza bairamy celebrated throughput the country! May our country be prosperous, the sky above be clean, the people be friendly and solidary, and may all our holidays bring joy and inspiration!

For Muslims all over the world Oraza is the month of charity, performance of the sacred rites. It is distinguished for the magic powers that make the people do marvels. It – this power is an Allah-given gift.

In this month people aspire to be more humane, to perform good deeds thus purifying their souls, elevating them. Thank to it the world becomes more kind and purer, the people’s lives get filled with the deep meaning. Moreover, Oraza is one of the months uniting and consolidating our people who show love to the Motherland with the remarkable enthusiasm.

Our wise ancestors perceived Oraza bairamy as the celebration of the triumph of human mind, mercy, spiritual purity, friendliness.

The policy of peace, creation, social progress based on justice, humanism, charity, wellbeing, constructive endeavours practiced by our people since olden times triumphs in the Turkmen state where the grandiose reforms take place nowadays. We are carrying out the large-scale work aiming to improve the Turkmen society and implementing the positive reforms. The remarkable events take place in the life of the country and people every day, we engrave them into the history with the golden letters. Guided by the standards of international law, mutual economic benefit and the national traditions Turkmenistan concludes bilateral agreements with the countries worldwide to intensify and expand co-operation in the political, economic and cultural spheres.

Turkmen is a nation that has made a profound contribution to the spiritual and cultural and scientific global development. We give particular attention to revival, preservation and development of the national values and due to circumstances half-forgotten traditions and customs. After gaining independence the national holidays formed over the centuries including the holy Oraza bairamy were revived.

On this happy day the Turkmen people who live in the peaceful country celebrate the holy Oraza bairamy based on the centuries-old traditions and perform the rites prescribed by the Muslim religion.

Dear brothers,

In this blessed month you offered up tarava namaz-sunna – an additional prayer offered up during the Muslim fast after the usual evening devotion, led the ascetic way of life. By observing a fast you purified your souls and flesh. On those days your relations with one another were kind and fraternal, and it enabled you to unite, to be closer one to another. By giving the evening agzachar sadaka you commemorated the deceased and prayed to Almighty for health, wellbeing and success. May all you sadaka and service be accepted by Allah, may your prayers be heard by Allah and may they be accepted!

Every good deed performed in the month Oraza will be undoubtedly rewarded. Maintaining the traditions of mercy and humanism established in the epoch of Oguz Khan the Decree “On Amnesty of the Persons Sentenced to Imprisonment in honour of the Holy Day Gadyr Gijesi” is issued in Turkmenistan each year, on this day we forgive and release from prison all those who have repented. This year thousands of the citizens of Turkmenistan released from prison are celebrating Oraza bairamy together with their relatives and friends. I believe that those people have chosen the road of improvement and will start a worthy life.

The wellbeing of the citizens, society and state is the essence of our policy. We spare no efforts so that every citizen of our country will live peacefully and be in need of nothing. We do our best so that every citizen can find a place in the life, be of benefit to the society, enjoy the fruits of honest labour. We will continue to address the concerns of citizens of the country and their peaceful life, to improve the standards of living that will be promoted by steadily developed economy and social sphere.
