On October 15, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov made a working trip around Ashgabat to start the large-scale construction projects.

The Turkmen leader visited the southern part of the Turkmen capital along Neutrality Avenue. Vice Premiers N. Shaguliev and M. Yazmuhammedova, Minister of Culture and Broadcasting Activities K. Chariyardurdiev, Vice Chancellor of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture H. Amangeldiev and Ashgabat Khyakim D. Orazov greeted the Turkmen leader at the entrance to the administrative building of the State Bank of Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan. In that part of the Turkmen capital Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov set the site of a township thus starting the new construction project the Turkmen leader had presented at the ceremony of awarding the winners of the President’s Prize Art Contest. According to the President’s idea the township would include the art education establishments and schools of art such as the Turkmen State Institute of Culture and the specialized music school affiliated with the Turkmen National Conservatoire and kindergartens and comfortable apartment houses for cultural workers. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted that the project was aimed promoting establishing a new artistic community, educating new talents, developing new artistic dynasties and maintaining the spiritual atmosphere that had been feeding the roots of Turkmen culture from ancient times.

Then the Turkmen leader visited the construction site located at the intersection of 10 Years of Prosperity Avenue and Neutrality Avenue. The project on development of the ground area, where two comfortable apartment houses had been built, was presented to the Turkmen leader. The project elaborated on the Turkmen leader’s instructions stipulated for constructing two more high-rise apartment houses and four trade centers that would form a local architectural ensemble. Upon considering thoroughly and providing some remarks on the draft project Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov approved it in whole. Putting emphasis on the social orientation of the urban development programme implemented in Ashgabat and the regions the Turkmen leader demanded that the designers and officials responsible for implementing the project should ensure the high quality of construction woks and conformity to the scheduled dates for the construction.

Then Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov visited the area located along Archabil Avenue, at the foothills of the Gindivar Mount, where the Path of Health started. Speaking about the importance of improving the capital and its outskirts the President focused on development of road infrastructure and arrangement of green spaces. The President instructed the high-ranking officials, who were accompanying him in the trip around the capital, to take an integrated approach to the designated tasks. The Turkmen leader focused on the necessity of studying and applying the best international practice to fulfill the urban development plans.
