Cooperation : U.S. Energy Secretary addresses a press conference
 
During his visit to Ashgabat U.S. Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman addressed a press conference at the Exhibition Hall upon closing the International Exhibition and Conference Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2007 on November 15.

Speaking at the press conference the U.S. Energy Secretary highly appreciated his meeting with President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov characterising it as extremely constructive and displaying full unanimity of the approaches to intensification of Turkmen-American long-term mutually beneficial co-operation. The U.S. Energy Secretary said that Turkmenistan’s openness and aiming towards active, specific interaction served as an important factor for that. In the guest’s opinion, the success of the International Exhibition Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2007 evidenced that.

Addressing the conference the U.S. Energy Secretary emphasized that Turkmen-American relations had been considerably enhanced in recent period and he hoped that bilateral partnership would be filled with new constructive content. He also said that the vast opportunities were opened for developing multi-aspect co-operation in development and exploration of oil and gas reserves as well as humanitarian co-operation, in particular education and science, training well-qualified specialists for Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector.

Upon concluding the press conference Mr. Samuel Bodman said that the natural wealth served and would serve the Turkmen people working for improving the lives of citizens serving as a pledge of the changes, which made the country really strong and great. Mr. Samuel Bodman wised the government and people of Turkmenistan profound success and wellbeing.
