The festivities on occasion of opening the Week of Turkmen-Turkish Friendship were held at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theatre in Ashgabat. The action vividly evidencing indissoluble of the friendly, fraternal ties between the two countries and nations was organised by the Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting Activities of Turkmenistan and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan. A fine and applied art exhibition of the works of the Turkmen and the Turkish craftsmen, the film demonstrations, the performances of the folk groups and popular artists of Turkmenistan and Turkey are included in the programme of the Week, which will undoubtedly add the bright colours to the cultural life of our city.
The exhibition arranged in the foyer of the Theater presents the wonderful works of the Turkmen and Turkish painters and handicraftsmen. The exhibition presents the national decorative and applied arts such as the traditional oriental arts of calligraphy and Ebru (making and painting marble paper). The musical ensemble from Ankara, the groups Serdara Serpay (Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan), Durdane (Cultural Center of Ruhabat Etrap, Ahal Velayat) and the dancing group of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey invite the people and guests of Ashgabat to their performances. Movie goers can enjoy the feature films “Ice Cream”, “My Father and Son”, “A Spiritual Wound” and the documentary film about Turkey.
The members of the public organisations, the diplomats accredited to Ashgabat, cultural workers, students of the higher educational establishments took part in the ceremony of opening the Week of Turkmen-Turkish Friendship. Those speaking at the ceremony noted that the action organised by the concerted efforts would promote further enhancement and development of the fraternal relations, fruitful humanitarian co-operation between the Turkmen and the Turkish nations bound with the common history and ties of spiritual kinship. |
