Cooperation : Co-operation for the welfare of people

The regional conference on the first response of public health to emergencies was opened in the Turkmen capital.

The large international forum organized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry and the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) brought together the representative delegations from the Central Asian states – Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, the CDC and the WHO experts and the leading healthcare specialists of Turkmenistan.

Speaking on the topicality of the problem under discussion the participants focused on the crucial role public health played in preventing and eliminating the catastrophic effect of various natural cataclysms including infective episodes that presented the serious threat to the health and welfare of people.

The participants noted that emergencies continued to be one of the most serious challenges in the modern period requiring concerted efforts including rendering first aid to the injured. Emphasis was put on the importance of the educational activities.

The presentation of the complex measures of preparedness and response to various emergencies as well as guarantees of the sanitary and epidemiological welfare was arranged on the first day of the conference.
