The two-day Turkmen-Russian economic forum, which brought together over 50 companies and firms from the Russian Federation headed by Boris N. Pastuhov, Acting Senior Vice President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry closed in Ashgabat.
The heads and leading specialists of the ministry of trade and external economic relations, economy and finance, oil and gas industry and mineral resources, textile industry, State Taxation Service, Central Bank and the other departments represented Turkmenistan at the forum.
The business meeting organised by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Russia vividly evidences dynamic expansion of mutually advantageous and multi-aspect co-operation entering a new stage of development. Within the framework of the meeting the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and Russia signed the Agreement on co-operation.
The Russian specialists noted that the keen interest in establishing close co-operation with Turkmenistan was stipulated for the huge potential of co-operation as well as the social and political stability reigning in the country and favourable investment climate. The Turkmen specialists acquainted the guests from Russia with the terms and procedures of trade and economic operations, some aspects of the national legislation on taxation, banking and exchange transactions, customs regulations as well as the key aspects of development of the leading branches of national economy.
Within the second day of the economic forum the members of the Russian delegation carried out the bilateral negotiations with the leading ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. During the talks the interlocutors considered the issues of full-scale co-operation with the leading sectors, taking into account participation of the Russian companies in implementation of new large-scale projects initiated by the President of Turkmenistan. The issues of enhancing co-operation in the financial and banking sectors, efficient work of which is the strong incentive for business development were considered during the meetings.
The rules of conducting trading relations, taking the requirements of the modern market and international marketing into account, were considered during the seminars the Russian specialists delivered for their Turkmen partners.
Within the framework of the cultural program the Russian guests visited the enterprises in Ashgabat and Ruhabat and the landmarks of the Turkmen capital. |
