President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov made a regular working trip around the capital and the Ahal Velayat. The Turkmen leader flied around Ashgabat and some areas of the Kopetdag Valley to inspect the progress of the important projects in the region. Ahal Velayat Khyakim M. Nurmammedov and Ashgabat Khyakim D. Orazov accompanied the Turkmen leader during the trip.

After leaving the Ashgabat International Airport the helicopter with the President and the khyakims headed for the city centre, where dozens of the buildings were under construction and the sites were prepared for the new construction projects. These included a fashionable hotel to be built at the intersection of Hero of Turkmenistan Atamurat Niyazov Avenue and Neutrality Avenue. The Bouygues Company is to construct the 13-storeyed tower.

Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov inspected the construction site of the TV tower and the territory allocated for the future town of arts, which would include comfortable apartment houses, kindergartens, art schools and educational establishments of from the height. Flying southward the helicopter hovered over the construction sites of the Ruhnama University, the Halk Maslakhaty Palace, then flied around the buildings of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange, the Ministry of Communications and other national ministries and departments under construction.

Putting emphasis on the importance of those construction projects the Turkmen leader gave the relevant instructions to Ashgabat Khyakim D. Orazov. Then the helicopter headed northward of the Turkmen capital for Choganly settlement, where a large marketplace would be constructed and a number of the social projects would be implemented. Emphasizing that paramount importance should be attached to developing the suburb of the capital city and creating the favourable conditions for life and recreation Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov focused on the issues related to the level of sanitation, improvement, reconstruction of the roads and pavements in the area.

The Turkmen leader touched upon the issues related to settlements improvement and demanded that the high-ranking officials should take strict control of the quality of the works.

Then the helicopter with the President and the high-ranking officials on board headed for Anau settlement and then to Ruhabat and Geoktepe. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov inspected the condition of the agricultural fields. The Turkmen leader got interested in the state of affairs on the construction sites in the region and the progress of the works on settlements improvement. Flying above Izgant settlement the President took notice of the old, ramshackle building of the local school. In this regard the Turkmen leader instructed Ahal Velayat Khyakim M. Nurmammedov to build a new school in the settlement and to equip it with multimedia technologies in compliance with the requirements of the national educational reform. In this regard Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov put emphasis on consistent implementation of the National Programme on establishment of the modern social and economic infrastructure in rural areas.

Flying above Geoktepe the President took notice of a neglected construction site. After the helicopter landed the Turkmen leader inspected the site of protracted construction. The Turkmen leader said that the velayat clinic supplied with up-to-date medical equipment and technologies would be constructed there. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov instructed the high-ranking officials to announce the international tender for construction of the clinic in Geoktepe. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov informed that the Kotam Enterprises Ltd Company (Turkey), which had implemented successfully a number of the construction projects in Turkmenistan, had expressed the readiness to build the Ene Myakhri Centre in the Ahal Velayat.

The Turkmen leader’s unexpected visit was a surprise to the local people, who cordially greeted Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov in the ancient land of Ahal.

Then the helicopter headed for Abadan. From the height of several hundreds of metres the Turkmen leader inspected the construction sites, in particular a stadium. There Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov took notice of another neglected construction site – the Palace of Culture, located nearby the building of the Abadan khyakimlik under construction. The Turkmen leader instructed to allocate the required funds to complete the construction works and put the building into operation. The Turkmen leader instructed Ahal Velayat Khyakim to take measures of further development of Abadan.

Then the helicopter headed for the Turkmen capital. The Turkmen leader inspected the western section of the ring road. Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov inspected the progress of the works on the construction sites of the National Wildlife Museum and children’s health-improving centres in Geokdere. The President inspected the green plantations and the areas to be planted with trees and shrubs.

Then helicopter landed in the Ashgabat International Airport. Driving through the city the President inspected the construction sites located along the city highways – Neutrality Avenue, Archabil Shayoly and Independent Avenue including the administrative buildings, apartment houses, trade centres, schools, kindergartens, road junctions.

In the afternoon Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov returned to the Presidential Palace.
