Ashgabat FC drawn for Group A played versus Zenit FC, which had defeated 3-1 Sheriff FC, the Moldova football champion from Tiraspol. The best FC Zenit player (St. Petersburg) Vladimir Yurchenko kicked the first goal in the 5th minute. After a time-out the Turkmen sportsmen took the lead and kicked two goals in the 77th minute (Kurbangeldy Durdyev) and a minute later (Guvanchmukhamed Ovekov). The tournament official site reports Guvanchmuhamed Ovekov (Ashgabat FC) to be the best footballer of the match.
