President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Coordinator of the Eurasian Energy Diplomacy of the U.S. Department of State, Ambassador Steven Mann, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital.
Thanking the Turkmen leader for the heartfelt welcome Mr. Steven Mann noted that he was very glad to visit Turkmenistan again to discuss the issues of co-operation.
Greeting the guest the Turkmen leader congratulated on the appointment to the important post and expressed satisfaction at the progress of the traditionally friendly Turkmen-American dialogue remarkable for constructiveness and business-like nature.
The guest said that traveling all over the region he had an opportunity to make sure that the interest and respect to the policy of progressive reforms carried on under leadership of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov was increasing. In his regard Mr. Steven Mann focused on the intense interest that the states in one of the largest regions showed in co-operation with independent neutral Turkmenistan as a country with the profound economic and resource potential.
Confirming Turkmenistan’s adherence to the policy of peaceableness and good neighbourliness Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov stated that Turkmenistan was always open for wide mutually advantageous partnership, first of all, with the neighbouring countries that it intended maintaining the close fruitful contacts with.
The interlocutors discussed the key trends and prospects of Turkmen-American co-operation at the current stage and exchanged views on the issues of mutual interest. Co-operation in the energy and fuel sector was a focus of the conversation. In this context the guest put emphasis on the leading American companies’ interest in establishing close business relations with Turkmenistan that worked towards effective realization of its giant energy potential through attracting advanced technologies and best international practices in this sector as well.
Upon concluding the meeting Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and the high-ranking official of the U.S. Department of State expressed belief that the Turkmen-American relations would be successfully developed.
