With the view to improve and bring the activity on prevention and control of infectious and dermatovenereological diseases, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS up to the international level, to supply the hospitals with blood and blood products and to strengthen the material and technical basis of the national healthcare system the President of Turkmenistan issued the special Resolution. In accordance with the document the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan is authorized to conclude the contract for design and construction of the 105-seat Central Dermatovenerologic Hospital, the 60-seat TB Treatment and Prevention Center with an outpatient department, the AIDS Prevention Centre, the 260-seat Infectious Diseases Treatment and Prevention Centre, the centralized laboratory and the Blood Centre in Ashgabat on terms of supplying the facilities with up-to-date medical equipment, spare parts, consumable materials, training special personnel, improving the adjacent territory as well as for design and construction of distributing engineering infrastructure, water supply and drainage facilities and connection to the municipal network amounted to US$ 103.290,001 (excluding VAT) with the Polimeks Insaat Taahut we Sanayi Tijaret A.S. Company (Turkey). The construction works are to be started in March 2008 and the facilities are to be put into operation in October 2009.
