The French Language Festival was arranged within the framework of the Francophonie Festival celebrated worldwide each year since 1990 at the Cultural Centre of the Embassy of the French Republic in Turkmenistan on March 17-19

The participants of the traditional cultural action were the schoolchildren and the students of the higher educational establishments of Ashgabat studying the French language. This year the programme of the Francophonie Festival included a number of the interesting contests for the best posters and the best connoisseur of the French cinematography. The participants of the theatrical contest presented the sketches based on the well-known literary works in the French language to the jury.

The Francophonie Festival in Ashgabat became another step towards enhancement and development of the traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and France based on fruitful co-operation in the humanitarian and cultural sphere as well.

The prizes - a trip to France were awarded to the winners of the contests.
