The governmental delegation of the Astrakhan Oblast (Russian Federation) led by Governor Aleksander Zhilkin arrived in Turkmenbashi town to visit the local large-scale enterprises and the landmarks of the littoral town and its suburbs. The day before President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov had received the head of the RF largest region. The interlocutors had discussed the progress of the agreements achieved during the previous visit of the Astrakhan delegation to Ashgabat last spring, specified the trends of further intensification of mutually advantageous partnership. Upon concluding the talks the Agreement on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical and Cultural Co-operation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Astrakhan Oblast had been concluded.
During the visit the guests visited the Turkmenbashi complex of oil refineries. The Astrakhan Oblast Governor and the members of the business delegation got acquainted with the process of making polypropylene, diesel and universal oils and oil products. The Russian guests highly appreciated the technological level of the industrial giant on the Caspian Sea coast manufacturing a broad range of the products of great demand on world market.
The Astrakhan delegation visited the international seaport and showed keen interest in the port activity management. Turkmenbashi town was on the threshold of the profound changes. The seaport supplied with up-to-date equipment connected with the cities on the Caspian Sea coast, Astrakhan as well would be built there in the nearest future.
The presentation of the Avaza National Project providing the vast opportunities for developing international tourism and establishing mutually advantageous co-operation was arranged for the guests from Astrakhan at the Serdar Hotel. The Skif ensemble of Russian national instruments from Astrakhan and the Turkmen artists performed a concert for the participants of the presentation.
In the afternoon the delegation led by the Astrakhan Oblast Governor Aleksander Zhilkin left Turkmenbashi for Astrakhan. |
