On these days two colours - green and red - the colours of the national flags of the two fraternal countries that confirmed the mutual willingness to develop the friendly relations and fruitful contacts, dominated in two main cities of the Republic of Turkey - Ankara and Istanbul.
This bright palette was replenished with many colours of the wonderful spring holiday Novruz widely celebrated by the Turkmen and the Turkish peoples. This ancient holiday symbolizing light and kindness, generosity and profusion, happiness and welfare highlighted the imperishable and eternal values underlying the essence and purport of the policy of peace, friendship and creation pursued by independent Turkmenistan. It is not occasional that the large-scale cultural action became the peculiar and meaningful overture of the Turkmen leader’s official visit to Turkey. During the week the plenipotentiary representatives of Turkmen culture presented a series of the concerts to thousands of the peoples and guests of Istanbul. The Turkmen artists succeeded in creating the specific heartfelt atmosphere, which became the leitmotif of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s visit to the Republic of Turkey. It is remarkable that the gala concert presented by the Turkmen and the Turkish artists and absorbing the beauty and power of the arts of two nations - the strong spiritual pivot uniting two solidary peoples became the final chord of the visit.
The intense interest shown in the Turkmen leader’s visit in Turkey attached special significance to the top-level talks. It was reflected in the remarkable activity of the mass media covering each moment of the visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen governmental delegation to the Turkish land in the television and radio reportages, newspaper articles and information lines and the heartfelt welcome extended to the envoys of Turkmenistan in Ankara and Istanbul. The cordial meetings in the Turkish land vividly evidenced how much Turkey was interested in expanding and intensifying fruitful co-operation with Turkmenistan.
Upon concluding the top-level talks the Joint Communique and the documents aimed at maintaining fruitful political, trade and economic co-operation between the countries, expanding the contacts in the humanitarian sphere, in particular in mass media, education and culture were signed. The agreement to establish closer co-operation between the ministries of foreign affairs was reached.
Exchanging views on a broad range of the issues of Turkmen-Turkish partnership Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Abdullah Gul specified the approaches to implementation of effective collaboration at the current stage and defined energy sector and transport and communications, textile and construction industries as the priority fields of co-operation.
Partnership in the fuel and energy sector was a focus of the Turkmen-Turkish top-level talks. Nowadays, energy security stood as an important factor of maintaining economic stability and political climate in the planet. In this regard Turkmenistan having the abundant energy resources and transport infrastructure is of particular interest to the international community and the countries of the region. Another evidence of it was inviting Turkmenistan by President of the Turkish Republic Abdullah Gul to collaborate in the joint transport project - construction of the Baku-Turkmenbashi train ferry.
This proposal does not contradict to Turkmenistan’s interests and multi-variant policy aimed at mutually advantageous co-operation with different countries worldwide. Undoubtedly, Turkmenistan’s participation in the project proposed by the Turkish partners will provide the additional opportunities of meeting the national interests, in particular accelerating the Avaza National Project and expanding the fruitful business contacts with the countries of the region. During the talks emphasis was put on collaboration of the Turkish companies in the national projects of Turkmenistan and development of the business contacts meeting the mutual interests.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed these issues during the informal conversation and considered the agreements achieved during the meetings between the leaders of Turkmenistan and Turkey.
It should be noted that speaking at the press conference in Ankara both leaders focused on the effective results of the top-level talks and were unanimous that the Turkmen leader’s visit to the Republic of Turkey had opened a road to the future of the Turkmen-Turkish relations.
The future was the theme of the conversation between President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen students studying at the institutions of higher education in Turkey. It is they, the young envoys of Turkmenistan, who are to achieve the goals of the epoch of new Revival, to strengthen the ties of fraternity and friendship between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Turkey.
