The Turkmen of the World International Festival Turkmen Land - the Beautified Land organized and held under the patronage of President of Turkmenistan and President of the Humanitarian Association of the Turkmen of the World Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov closed in Turkmenistan. The seminar brought together our compatriots from Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and five regions of the country in the hospitable Turkmen land.

The big concert became the final chord of the cultural event. It was performed in a stylized Turkmen village with the colourful, spacious yurts in the territory of Ak Bugday Etrap. The family groups from Turkey, Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the folklore and artistic groups from the regions of Turkmenistan presented the performances on the open-air stage in the picturesque valley.

The ultimate goal of the Festival is to preserve and popularize the national cultural heritage as an integral part of human civilization, to expand the artistic and spiritual contacts with the compatriots residing abroad, to introduce Turkmenistan’s achievements gained in the epoch of national revival. It is called upon to promote bringing younger generation to love their native land, to respect the national traditions and customs, to study culture and traditions of the Turkmen people who considerably contribute to development of world civilization. The festive program consists of the various arrangements reflecting the original traditions and customs carefully preserved by the people of Turkmenistan including national holidays, craftsmen and the dishes of Turkmen cuisine, national games and contests. The people of Turkmenistan got the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture of the Turkmen residing abroad.

For four days hundreds of the people came in the Ak Bugday Etrap from different parts of the country to take part in the Festival and meet with their compatriots from different countries worldwide. It is symbolic that the Festival was held in spring, the season when the fertile hospitable Turkmen land is blossoming. The holiday of friendship full of creative discoveries and unforgettable meetings added new colours to the country’s life.

Numerous guests including the representatives of the largest public organisations, members of the Galkynysh National Movement, the journalists, the cultural workers, the heads of the ministries and departments, the higher educational institutions and schools, the collective members of the of the Humanitarian Association of the Turkmen of the World, enjoyed the concert.

The wonderful Turkmen melodies and songs inspired with love and respect to the centuries-old traditions of the Turkmen people performed by the participants were heard over the boundless ancient Turkmen land glorifying its beauty and eternal youth.

The awarding ceremony was held in conclusion of the concert. The participants of the Festival received the prizes - Turkmen carpets, books, children’s clothes and other souvenirs reminding about the time spent in the hospitable land of Ahal on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

Speaking at the ceremony the heads of the delegations expressed deep gratitude to the Turkmen leader and the organizers of the forum for presenting the Festival. In particular they said, “We carefully preserve the traditions and customs inherited from our forefathers and do the best to present rich and ancient Turkmen culture to the people residing all over the world”.

Upon concluding the Festival the participants issued the thank-you letter to President of Turkmenistan, President of the Humanitarian Association of the Turkmen of the World Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
