On these days the participants of the motor relay race symbolizing the Olympic movement that unites the countries, peoples and continents are visiting Turkmenistan. The relay race is initiated by the Greek Cultural Organisation Olive Ways having for the object the delivery of the symbolical torch – Torch of Peace embodying the mankind’s persistent aspiration for the ideals of peace, happiness and creation from Greece – the homeland of the Olympic Games to Beijing – the host of the 2008 Olympic Games. The route lies across Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, from where the participants will get to China.

86 participants of the action will cross Turkmenistan along the route Turkmenbashi-Balkanabat-Serdar-Baharly-Ashgbat-Tejen-Mary-Bayramali-Turkmenabt-Farab. During stopovers throughout the entire journey the organizers and participants of the motor cycle relay race will invited all those willing to visit the thematic exposition Olive Ways and Intercultural Dialogue dedicated to friendship and peaceful co-existence of different nations and cultures.

Being an active participant to the Olympic movement Turkmenistan invariably demonstrates the adherence to its ideals that is vividly embodied in the national policy aimed at maintaining global peace and positive international co-operation. Another evidence of that is the participation of the Turkmen national team in the XXIX Olympic Games in Beijing where the relay race will finish.
