In the morning on August 14 the Challenger CL-605 aircraft landed in the Ashgabat International Airport. It was purchased by the Turkmenhowayollary State National Service on the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
The decision to purchase an aircraft was dictated by the frequent trips of Turkmen delegations to foreign countries. Implementing the policy of openness and wide international co-operation initiated by the Turkmen leader Turkmenistan more actively expands business and cultural contacts, builds the bridges of mutually advantageous co-operation with different countries worldwide.
The VIP-class aircrafts are manufactured by Canadian Bombardier Aerospace – one of the world’s manufacturers of business and regional airlines.
The Company started to manufacture Challenger CL-605 designed for 18 passengers in 2007. It has two General Electrics engines and can make 870 km/h. Its length is 20,85 m and height is 6,30 m. It weighs 21,9 tons. The aircraft can fly non-stop at the distance up to 6,100 km, i.e. fly from the Turkmen capital to many Asian and European countries.
The aircraft is another evidence of the Turkmen leader’s concern for the development of the national aviation oriented to the international standards, first of all safety and comfort.
