Turkmenistan expresses profound concern and regret for the tragic events in South Ossetia, which caused mass civilian casualties.

In this regard the Government of Turkmenistan expresses condolences to the relatives and families of the deceased.

Turkmenistan supports the international efforts to create the atmosphere of the dialogue to prevent from resuming the military conflict and settling the humanitarian problems in the aftermath of that tragedy.

Turkmenistan believes the conflict must be solved only by the peaceful, diplomatic means and methods that will promote achieving stability and security in the region.
