The preparatory works on the construction site of the town of arts are under completion in the south of the Turkmen capital. The construction project implemented at the request of the Ministry of Culture and TV and Radio Broadcasting amounts to US$ 130 million.
Alma mater for future film directors, artists, TV camera operators and cinematographer, restorers and librarians – the building of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture will be constructed in an angular part of the town. The shape and location of the building will resemble a crown. It will be composed of six chambers placed at various storeys. The building will house rehearsal and dance rooms, lecture rooms and studios supplied with necessary equipment.

The building of the specialized boarding music school affiliated with the Turkmen National Conservatoire is constructed there for musically gifted children from all over the country. The building has the shape of the treble clef. There will be two hostels: for 740 students of the Institute from the other towns and for 500 young musicians in the territory of the town of arts. There will be the gymnasium, closed and open-air swimming pools so that students and schoolchildren could improve health and practice sport.
Three apartment houses will be constructed for the teachers of the Institute and the boarding music school (two 12-storey houses and one 15-storey house). The relevant social and cultural infrastructure will be created in the housing estate. The 200-seat kindergarten, 600-seat school, two shops and underground parking lot will spring up nearby the high-rise apartment houses.
Thus, the town of arts to be put into operation in August 2009 will offer cultural workers and artists the favourable conditions of a worthy life, fruitful work and recreation.
