The first sowing campaign has started in the youngest etrap of the Mary Velayat – Altyn Sakhra established this April. The establishment and development of the region is a vivid reflection of the ongoing reform policy and the programme on the development of rural areas, efficient use of land resources and full-scale and effective development of the tracts of virgin lands.
Before the farmers in the Jojukly tract of lands used to carry out shift work, did not feel the masters of their own land. The land used to be neglected for a long time and harvests used to be low. Today the situation has rapidly changed. The ploughed fields occupy 24,500 hectares. It is planned to expand the area up to 27,500 hectares, about 1,000 hectares have been put into agricultural use. Over 50 km of irrigation network have been built, the old drainage network is under reconstruction and a new one will be laid.
Eight farmers associations were founded in the Jojukly tract of lands. In the nearest future thousands of young farmers’ families will move from the densely populated areas to the newly established etrap. The Parahat Etrap is being rapidly changed. At present, the buildings of the school, kindergarten, cultural centres, municipal administration and two apartment houses are under construction in the region. A housing estate will spring up nearby the administrative centre through securing preferential loans…
The pace of development of the virgin lands in Altyn Sakhra is high. All agricultural works are carried out in compliance with the agrotechnical requirements, modern agricultural machines are operated properly and effectively. That was the focus of the first special workshop on the preparations for the winter crop sowing campaign held in the newly established etrap.
