President of Turkmenistan visits Bitaraplyk frontier post

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Bitaraplyk frontier post stationed at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains near the Turkmen capital.

The high-ranking officials of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan greeted the Turkmen leader at the frontier post. Chairman of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan Major General B. Alovov reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan.

Then the President approached the stand with the project of construction of a frontier post – a military camp with the necessary infrastructure. It would be a complex including social and cultural facilities as well. In two-three years a cozy military camp with the favourable conditions for the life, recreation and professional activity of the frontier guards and their families would spring up there.

Upon thoroughly considering the project the President approved it as a whole. Emphasizing that the similar military camps would spring up along the border of Turkmenistan the President demanded that the conditions for improving frontier guards’ battle training and comfortable life of their families would be provided there.

Then the President headed for the borderland where the Chief of the Headquarters Staff of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan Lieutenant Colonel Y. Bekiev reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Then Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov talked to the frontier guards of the mounted detachment about their service and the professional specifics - special skills and training required of mounted frontier guards. The frontier guards demonstrated the manuals and professional technique to the Turkmen leader.

Highly appreciated the soldiers’ technique and coordination of their actions Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished new accomplishments in their difficult and responsible though very important and noble service and labour. Addressing those present the Turkmen leader emphasized that Turkmen frontier guards were entrusted with the noble mission – to be on the frontline of protection of the peaceful life of the homeland, to conduct the policy of friendship and co-operation that served as the unshakable foundation of the fraternal relations with the neighbouring peoples.

Express9gn belief that frontier guards would keep profoundly contributing to the success of this policy Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov presented them the keys to the new vehicles – UAZ and two KAMAZ vehicles. Cordially thanking the President for the present the officers assured Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that they would stand devoted to their sacred duty and defend the beloved Motherland vigorously.

Then the Turkmen leader talked to the frontier guards serving in the detachment on the control and track frontier. The officer on duty reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief that no border incidents had happened while the patrol was on duty. Talking to the frontier guards about the service and living conditions the President wished the frontier guards good health and success. Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the active support and unceasing concern, the officer on duty assured Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that the frontier guards would serve faithfully to the beloved Motherland, the people and President of Turkmenistan.

Upon concluding the visit to the frontier post Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov watched the military arsenal placed at the frontier guards’ disposal. Testing a machine-gun the Turkmen leader made some shots at the targets in the shooting ground.

Upon concluding the meeting with the frontier guards the President expressed belief that they would justify the confidence and with dignity hold the rank of the defenders of the sacred borders of the homeland. Focusing on Turkmenistan’s adherence to the policy of peace and good neighbourliness Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the implementation of the status of permanent neutrality delegated to the country stipulated for active contribution global peacemaking efforts as well as the steady readiness to respond to threats and challenges of the modern world. Founding the country’s military doctrine on the defensive principle the Turkmen state took the steps to ensure the high fighting capacity of the national armed forces, encouraging the high spirit of the Turkmen army. For this purpose modern arms were purchased, the technique of professional military personnel was steadily improved, the worthy conditions of the Turkmen soldiers’ service and life regarded as a task of national importance were created. The Turkmen leader said that the Government would attach paramount importance to these issues.
