Economy : Turkmenistan’s power industry – a vast field for interested partnership
 
The International Exhibition and Conference Basic Trends in Development of Turkmenistan’s Power Industry closed in the Turkmen capital.

The first international forum in the history of Turkmenistan’s power industry brought together the representatives of over 50 foreign companies and industrial groups from 22 countries worldwide. This fact vividly testifies to foreign business’s intense interest in co-operation with Turkmenistan as well as the country’s reputation as a very promising and dependable partner.

The world-renowned companies and national sectoral enterprises that rely on scientific and technological advances presented the best innovations in the pavilions of the three-day exposition. The showpieces of up-to-date equipment, technologies, reference literature were displayed at the Exhibition Centre. The sections devoted to the projects on reconstruction of the power plants and were of professional interest to thousands of specialists from Ashgabat and the regions of the country and all-inclusive service of energy facilities. The exposition included the miniature models of the units based on resource-saving technologies. These units consume the alternative energy sources- solar, wind, etc. This interest was conditioned by the vast opportunities provided by the natural and climatic conditions of Turkmenistan where the research in alternative energy sources was a priority trend of the development of Turkmen science.

Over 50 reports supplemented with the video materials were presented at the conference. The foreign partners shared their achievements and experience with the Turkmen colleagues. Among the foreign participants of the forum – Director General Yarovit Energo close corporation Oleg Zhukov (Russia), a fellow of the Academy of Electrical Engineering of the Russian Academy of Science Professor, Deputy Director of Positron public corporation F, Khalilov, Senior Consultant for Energy of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Peter Jezek, Senior Coordinator of ENDA Enerji Holding AS Husein Metin Tunjai (Turkey) and others.

During the closing ceremony the diplomats and international certificates UQNET and ISO 9001 were awarded to the participants.

The international energy forum in Ashgabat became an important step towards establishing wide international co-operation standing as a crucial factor of the success of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s progressive political course. The meetings and talks which would be continued in new contract and close business mutually advantageous ties were held in the framework of the forum.
