National Exhibition of the Russian Federation closes in Ashgabat

The National Exhibition of the Russian Federation Economic Growth and Mutually Advantageous Partnership, which could be rightfully called one of the brightest events in the modern history of the relations between two states, closed in Ashgabat. Over 120 companies and enterprises representing 16 regions of Russia took part in the forum. The exposition was organized by the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with the assistance of the Neguz Expo Company.

The large scale and significance placed the Exhibition among the unprecedented events. Since it was opened it had turned into an open platform for talks, the focus of business interests for both sides. The Russian businessmen’s intention to establish the close long-term contacts with Turkmen colleagues became apparent during a number of the presentations. In particular, Altai, Volgograd, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Tyumen, Omsk, Samara, Chelyabinsk Oblast and the partner companies –Rstselmash Kombainovy Zavod Public Corporation, ITERA Group of Companies, Mobilnye TeleSistema Public Corporation, MetalPromEksport demonstrated their achievements and economic potential. The Kama Trading House, Shchebekin Machinery Plant Public Corporation, Akvamin Company limited and other exhibitors presented their potential to the Turkmen partners.

The roundtable held by the specialists of the RF Ministry of Emergency was of great interest to the specialists. The officials and leading specialists of the national departments concerned – the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry attended the roundtable. The guests made presentation on the organizational structure of the Ministry of Emergency, the main tasks and objectives of its subdivisions during natural and anthropogenic disasters, shared the experience in using rescue equipment.

First Deputy of the RF Prime Minister, Co-Chairman of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission for economic co-operation Viktor Zubkov visited the Exhibition the third day. The honorary guest made an excursion around the exposition and had a meeting with the participants – the Russian businessmen to inform them of the results of the bilateral talks and new prospects of co-operation with Turkmenistan.

The Russian partners and the Turkmen colleagues were unanimous that the large-scale exhibition – an outcome of the Turkmen-Russian top level agreements to intensify and foster the mutually advantageous dialogue, first of all. Reflecting Russia’s endeavours to enhance constructive business contacts with Turkmenistan the exposition proved our country’s high international prestige and reputation of a dependable, competent partner.

The high-ranking officials of the sectoral ministries and departments, hundreds of specialists and entrepreneurs and numerous guests and people of the Turkmen capital visited the three-day exposition. The visitors received the comprehensive information on the Russian Federation’s economic potential and the opportunities of mutually advantageous co-operation in the whole spectrum of the basic fields – fuel and energy sector, machine building, motor industry, instrument engineering, aircraft construction, electrical and chemical industries, agriculture, construction industry, transport and communication, high technologies and pharmaceutical industry. The exhibitors included the famous companies working in Turkmenistan for many years as well as those who had first expressed the willingness to operate on the Turkmen market.

Thus, the National Exhibition of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan became a vivid symbol of Turkmen-Russian co-operation enhanced with every passing year, based on the friendly peoples’ goodwill and meeting the mutual interests, aims and spirit of the intergovernmental dialogue. Undoubtedly, the major outcome of this large-scale forum was forward-looking partner contacts.

The diplomas and certificates were awarded to the participants during the closing ceremony.
