President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China Lu Guisheng who had accomplished the diplomatic mission in Ashgabat

Greeting the guest the Turkmen leader focused on significance that Turkmenistan attached to overall development of the intergovernmental relations with Great China. The President said that today these relations had entered the golden age demonstrating both people’s adherence to the original ties of friendship and co-operation tracing back to the Great Silk Route.

Thanking for a consistent, constructive approach to traditionally friendly Turkmen-Chinese relations the diplomat noted that for five years spent in Turkmenistan he had witnessed the grandiose, epoch-making changes that enabled the Turkmen state to make a breakthrough on the path of progress and constructive endeavours and win the country immense prestige worldwide.

Lu Guisheng said that following the instructions of the leadership of China that attached priority significance to development of co-operation with Turkmenistan he tried to serve faithfully overall development of the intergovernmental dialogue for the benefit of two fraternal peoples. The Chinese diplomat expressed sincere gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan and President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov personally for unceasing support and assistance that had essentially facilitated the diplomat’s mission.

The Turkmen leader and his guest focused on the vast opportunities for further expanding partnership between Turkmenistan and China provided by their increased potential and the plans of mutually advantageous co-operation approved by both leaders during the recent official visit of President Hu Jintao to Ashgabat.

In this regard Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of the top level talks noting the friendly dialogue at the top level had determined the vector of bilateral co-operation for many years ahead.

One of the most important fields of this co-operation was oil and gas industry in which the remarkable achievements were linked to the large-scale Turkmenistan-China Pipeline Project. The vast opportunities for intensifying collaboration were provided such strategic fields as transport and communication, textile industry.

Expressing belief that the friendly, fraternal relations between two countries would be fostered and expanded exemplifying constructive and fruitful co-operation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highly appreciated Lu Guisheng’s contribution to strengthening the ties of friendship and fraternity between two peoples and issued the Decree on awarding Medal Watana bolan soygusi ucin to the plenipotentiary representative of China

Thanking for high appreciation of his activity and attention the diplomat expressed profound gratitude to the President and the people of Turkmenistan for cordiality, respect and hospitality he could feel for five years of working in Turkmenistan that bound him with this land forever.
