
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Turkmenistan Vladmir Badalian, who presented the credential letters to the Turkmen leader.
Tanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting the diplomat conveyed the heartfelt greetings on behalf of President of Armenia Serj Sargsian emphasizing that Armenia’s leadership stood for active development of the fruitful intergovernmental dialogue established in recent years. The diplomat noted that Armenia took keen interested in the ongoing large-scale reforms and looking forward to the Turkmen leader’s visit.
Expressing the best wishes to the President and the people of Armenia Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated Vladimir Badalian on the appointment to the important diplomatic post and wished success in performing the noble mission to strengthen the ties of friendship and fraternity between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Armenia.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the plenipotentiary representative of Armenia exchanged views on the major aspects of and the perspectives of enhancing bilateral co-operation. Focusing with satisfaction on the high level of the traditionally friendly Turkmen-Armenian relations the sides expressed the willingness to enhance comprehensively mutually advantageous partnership in the important fields including trade and economy, science, education, health care, sports and tourism.
Expressing the country’s readiness to establish mutually advantageous co-operation in the oil and gas sector, in which Turkmenistan with the profound hydrocarbon potential stood ready to partner with all parties concerned, the diplomat emphasized that Armenia welcomed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s initiative to ensure pipeline security as a crucial factor for global energy security. Highly appreciating the prospects of co-operation facilitated by the bilateral intergovernmental commission the sides discussed the opportunities of opening the air services between two countries.
Development of humanitarian co-operation based on the centuries-old cultural and historical kinship of the two nations was a focus of the conversation. Putting emphasis on further intensification of cultural exchange and scientific contacts to study the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen and the Armenian people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the significance of the international conferences and symposiums with participation of the scientists and specialists of both countries. The diplomat informed the Turkmen leader that the institute specialized in the Turkmen history and culture had been established in Yerevan
In conclusion Vladmir Badalian thanked the Turkmen leader for the heartfelt welcome and assured that he would spare no effort to enhance bilateral co-operation based on the long-term, mutually advantageous basis.
