People & Health : TV tower at a height of 1,020 metres above sea level

TV tower at a height of 1,020 metres above sea levelIn modern urban planning the TV towers are a special pride. It is the support with the antennas to transfer the television and radio signals, to ensure digital and meteorological communication installed at the top. Though, the specifically practical application of the facility prevents from becoming an architectural landmark of many cities all over the world.

The higher a tower the broader its radius of operation. Therefore, the site in the southeast of Gindivar located at a height of 1,020 metres above sea level was chosen as the construction site of the TV tower in Ashgabat. The site planning is carried out on the construction site.

The height of the TV tower is 211 metres. There will be a huge stained glass in the shape of the octagonal star between the bottom and the middle of the construction. The star will be covered with the special glass on both sides. The light-sensitive elements between the glasses will accumulate the solar energy and emit it light up the indoor premises and the adjacent territory during the nighttime

This light can be observed from any part of Ashgabat. The solar energy is used in Turkmenistan for these purposes for the first time.

There will be the visitor platforms at both levels of the tower – 100 metres and 150 metres providing a splendid view of the Turkmen capital and Gindivar. There will be the café, VIP hall and 200-seat restaurant between the levels built one above the other.

The floors from the ground to the seventh will house the offices of the Turkmen TV and Radio Centre, about 100 editing rooms and 10 on-air booths. The offices for TV and radio journalists will be on the 8th-12th floors.

There will be the conference and exhibition halls, shops and entertainment rooms on the 13th-18th floors. The auxiliary premises will occupy the 19th-24th floors. The total inside area of the tower is 54,000 square metres.

The 5-km highway meeting the international standards will lead to the tower. Exotic trees and shrubs will be planted on both sides of the highway and the lamps consuming the solar energy will be installed along the alleys.

In the near future this construction in the countryside will beatify and what is more important is that the profound potential of the TV tower will bring electronic mass media in Turkmenistan up to a higher level.
