Cooperation : Turkmentel-2008: tomorrow begins today
 
Turkmentel-2008: tomorrow begins todayThe 2nd international exhibition of telecommunication, telemetric and information technologies and television and radio equipment Turkmentel-2008 and the scientific conference were opened in Ashgabat. In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan the organizers of the forum are the Ministry of Communication and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

The world’s leading telecommunications companies, distributors and providers from 20 countries worldwide including Japan, Russia, Germany, the United States, China, Great Britain, Israel, Finland, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia, Belgium, Turkey, Belarus, Uzbekistan are represented at Turkmentel-2008. Over 70 Turkmen and foreign companies successfully operating on the domestic telecommunications and computer technology market participated in the forum.

As is known President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attaches paramount importance to development of telecommunications and communications. Telecommunications, television and radio broadcasting and logistics have become a priority trend in economic development of Turkmenistan with the favourable geopolitical location mediating between East and West.

The scientific conference held in the framework of the Turkmentel-2008 Exhibition will bring together Turkmen communications and transport workers and their foreign colleagues. The conference participants will report on the current state and perspectives of the sector of communication and exchange views on the major aspects of collaboration and experience as well as specify the forms of further co-operation and investment opportunities.

The delegations of the CIS member states participating in the 39th session of the Board of the Communications Administrations Heads of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications and the 13th session of the Coordination Council of the CIS member states for Informatization are invited to attend the conference. Two sectoral international forums and exhibition held in Ashgabat testify to the significance attached by Turkmenistan to development of co-operation in this sector as well as the growth of the country’s reputation viewed by the world community as the dynamically developing state and dependable and very promising partner.
