Having announced the agenda, the Head of the State gave floor to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers G. Myradov who reported on macroeconomic indicators for two months of 2018. The Vice-premier informed that the growth of the GDP was 6.2 percent for the period under review. In industrial complex this indicator has increased on 4.8 percent, in transport and communication sector on 10.4 percent, in trade on 8.4 percent, agriculture on 3.4 percent, in service sphere on 10.1 percent.
The document stipulates conducting, in the short term, an analysis of the existing legislation in this sphere and making necessary amendments and additions to it; introducing the state form of statistical reporting on employment of young professionals. Measures will be taken to create conditions for improvement of social and living standards for young people and to provide government support; soft loan system will be developed for construction or purchase of homes.
The significance of the industry exhibition and joint business forum traditionally held in Ashgabat as an effective platform for discussing topical issues of cooperation was noted during on the eve meeting of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with Mohammad Shariatmadari. The intention of the two states was underscored to promote further activation of business relations, stimulation of investment activity and increase in volumes of mutual trade turnover. Production of goods increased by 4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Retail trade turnover grew by 18.1percent compared to the similar period in 2017. Prices for consumer goods and tariffs for public services remained within the set limits. Export of goods increased by 18 percent.
The document is aimed at ensuring efficient use of all available opportunities for boosting production of import-substituting goods that are in no way inferior to foreign analogs. Private sector, that has an important role in developing the national economy and in its transition to market relations, is actively involved in achieving the set goals.
