Students of the Academy of Civil Service get acquainted with the international practices of demographic analysis
A course of lectures and seminars on demography and social statistics was conducted at the Academy of Civil Service under the aegis of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities.
Within the framework of the training, international consultant, Head of Department of Socio-Demographic Policy of the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Science of Belarus (Minsk, Belarus) Anastasia Bobrova told about the modern trends of social statistics and familiarized the audience with various procedures for analyzing population processes and international practices in this sphere. The classes were held in the interactive form with individual tasks and group discussions.
Summing up the seminar, Anastasia Bobrova empathized that the mutual interest contributed to achieving the main goal – provision of consultative and technical assistance on the improvement of the system on training and professional development of public officers and exchange of international practices in the spheres of demography and social statistics. The expert underlined the importance of innovative educational approaches, efficient use of didactic and methodological materials, multimedia technologies as advanced and very popular teaching methods.
