President of Turkmenistan receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who was completing his diplomatic mission to Turkmenistan. During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the diplomat exchanged their views on the prospects for enhancing cooperation.

Mr. Abdul Malik underlined the significance of the project on the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline, the implementation of which will contribute to the development of the economic cooperation in the regional and global level. The diplomat also focused on the importance of project on exporting electrical energy from Turkmenistan to Pakistan. It was noted that Pakistan supported the initiative put forward by the Turkmen side on the creation of transport and transit corridors and guaranteeing the global energy security.

The leader of the Turkmen state and the Ambassador discussed the issues of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere, including science, education and health care. It was emphasized the importance of establishing direct contacts between scientific and educational institutions and creative centres of the two states.
