Voluntary team of the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development – the best team based on the result of the contest among higher educational institutions

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Executive Committee on the preparations for the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games with the support of the National Trade Unions Centre organized a contest among volunteers, students of the higher educational institutions in Ashgabat. The contest took place at D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.


The main requirement applicable to the contest participants was the high level of English proficiency that they demonstrated during the contest. In the first round, the students made interactive presentations.

In the framework of the second round, the contest participants answered the question on the history and sports included into the programme of the V Asian Games, told about the sights, historical and cultural monuments in the Turkmen capital and other regions of our country as well as unique traditions and culture. In the final round, the volunteers solved case problems.


The team of the International University of Humanitarian Sciences and Development won the grand prize. Volunteers representing D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages won the first place. The teams of Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the Institute of International relations shared the second place. The International Oil and Gas University, the State Medical University and the Turkmen State Financial University won the third place.

According to Lachin Geldiyeva, the English Language teacher of the Department of Theory and Translation Practice, the Chairperson of the Centre of Volunteers of D. Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages that includes more than 1,500 students, the outcomes of the second contest demonstrated the significantly increased level of knowledge and skills of the representatives of voluntary movement.
