The President of Turkmenistan and the Head of Qatar’s Education, Science and Social Development Fund discuss the aspects of cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held the meeting with Head Qatar’s Education, Science and Social Development Fund (Qatar Foundation) Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad Al-Thani.

Greeting Turkmen Leader, the guest congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with large success of his visit to Qatar and expressed the delight for the opportunity to discuss the subjects of bilateral cooperation in personal conversation.

There was detailed exchange of the opinion on opportunities of the partnership with Qatar Foundation that has number of large projects related with the investments to “human potential” and formation of innovative model of education.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that Turkmenistan pays great attention to this direction and is willing to discuss joint programmes and projects for the development of national education system, in particular for studying Arabic language. The head of the State also said that Turkmenistan is interested in Qatar’s experience in foundation of branches of famous international universities in the country.

Large potential and prospects for fruitful scientific work, conducting of joint scientific studies in different areas, establishment of the contacts between the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and National Scientific Fund of Qatar as well as between technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences and Qatar Technology Park, between the Institute of Manuscripts of the Academy and the Arabic Islamic Heritage Library were noted during the conversation.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov spoke for expansion of the relations between medical centres of our country and Qatar Institute of Biomedical Studies and Sidra Medical Research Centre.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Qatar Foundation delegation to visit Turkmenistan for detailed discussion of perspective directions and specific projects of joint activity.
