Project of construction of Ashgabat – Turkmenbashy speed highway is under development
New highway to connect Turkmen capital with seaside city will start from the 24t kilometre of Ashgabat – Dashoguz road and will run across Gyokdepe and Baharly etraps of Ahal Velayat and Serdar, Bereket, Turkmenbashy etraps and Balkanabat city of Balkan Velayat. It is planned to build 7 road interchanges for exit and enter, petrol stations, leisure centres, shops, restaurants, closed and opened parking, hotels, technical service centres, automobile bridges across Karakum River and railroad, mud stream diversion and drainages, etc. along the highway. Installation of light poles and other relative infrastructure along the road is also planned.
The construction of Ashgabat – Turkmenbashy speed highway will give opportunity to bring the quality of traffic services to international level, to establish international transit and transport infrastructures, increase trade turnover between neighbouring countries and traffic as well as to increase the export and transit of cargoes by using the capabilities of Turkmenbashy International Seaport.
