Alexander Blokhin: we are able to offer a new incentive to the Turkmen-Russian partnership with joint efforts

This year has been marked with the 25th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relations between Moscow and Ashgabat. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of this date. It can be said that the current level of partnership fully satisfies its strategic character.

We value the historical, fraternal relations established between our countries. We are please to note the coincidence or closeness of the approaches of Turkmenistan and Russia towards the key global and regional problems, the common commitment to enhance cooperation in the foreign-policy sphere in the bilateral and multilateral format.

The fact that the Russian Federation stood as a co-author of special Resolutions of the UN General Assembly on the neutral status of Turkmenistan and its 20th anniversary is highly demonstrative. We pay particular attention to the policy of neutrality pursued by Ashgabat, have supported and will continue supporting the constructive and creative foreign-policy course, the aspiration to ensure peace and stability in Central Asia. Today, there has been observed the process of establishing Ashgabat as important international political hub. That satisfies the interests of the whole region.

The organization of top-level meetings at the regular basis testifies to the importance the leader of the two states pay to strengthening the Russian-Turkmen dialogue. The visit of esteemed President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Sochi on November 1, 2016 has once again proved the joint commitment to enhancing bilateral strategic relations.

Our cooperation is multi-facetted. It strengthens, diversifies and develops increasingly. We are able to offer a new incentive to the Turkmen-Russian partnership with joint efforts, to use its unique, inexhaustible potential.

Russia consistently aspires to ensure the sustainable dynamics of the interstate trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan on the mutually beneficial, equal and constructive basis. At present, over 190 companies with Russian capital operate in Turkmenistan. Interregional relations play more and more significant role. Relations with the Astrakhan region, the Republic of Tatarstan and St. Petersburg develop very efficient.

It is difficult to overestimate the role of bilateral cultural and humanitarian relations. I’m sure that the mechanisms for interpenetration of our cultures will in future contribute to better understanding between our peoples and will establish the foundation for future generations.

I would like to use this opportunity to congratulate His Excellency President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Myalikgulyyevich Berdimuhamedov and the fraternal people of Turkmenistan on this important date for our states and wish our bilateral relations develop further within the framework of fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation, in the atmosphere of traditional friendship and truct.
