Turkmen students demonstrate high results in international internet student Olympics

97 different medals is a result of participation of Turkmen students in Open International Internet Contest organized by Russian national Fund for Support of Innovations in Educational Sphere and Scientific and research Institute of Monitoring of Education Quality (Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El Republic) together with Ariel University, Israel.

More than 4000 students were the participants of online contest. Totally, 232 teams from universities of Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Slovenia and Bulgaria participated in the competition together with Turkmen students.

The Games were held in two stages in such disciplines as physics, chemistry, mathematics, economics, ecology, information technologies, statistics, materials resistance, and theoretical mechanics. Officially registered domestic main university for this Games, the State Architecture and Construction Institute, was the place of the competition for most of the universities in Ashgabat.


For other educational institutes, the rounds started at International University of Humanitarian Studies and Development and later were continued in Turkmen Agricultural Institute in Dashoguz.

The students of Turkmen State Architecture and Construction Institute headed the list of domestic universities, having demonstrated the best team result – one gold, seven silver and nine bronze medals.

The students of International Oil and Gas University and Turkmen Agricultural Institute are also among the leaders. Each university had 12 medals and totally, there are five gold, seven silver and twelve bronze medals. They are followed by Medical University and Energy Institute with 11 prizes each – six gold, four silver and twelve bronze medals.

The students of International Institute of Humanitarian Studies and Development won one gold, two silver and seven bronze awards.

There are teams from Magtumguly State University, S. Seydi State Pedagogical Institute, Agricultural University, Economics and Management Institute, Finance Institute and Institute of Transport and Communication among the prize winners. It was the first but successful participation for the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communication, which brought the victory.

Almost record number of medals – 20 gold, 27 silver and 50 bronze – is a bright evidence of successful realization of innovative education reform declared by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which combines the best traditions of national pedagogics and world’s educational standards.
