Editors, directors and operators of Turkmen TV channels have training on covering large events

The seminar was organized by the OSCE Centre in Turkmenistan together with the State Committee for Television, radio Broadcasting and Cinematography. The cycle of topical lessons was held by international experts Marek Bekerman from UK, who worked for many years in BBC and Zakhar Vinnikov, the director of photography of Russian channel “Zvezda”.

Four-day seminar was held in session format where the main time was paid to modern approaches to covering of large events on TV, in particular to composition and structuring of TV report, taking an interview, writing and editing the texts. Besides, the specifics of work of the reporter in stand-up format was highlighted.

During the training, Turkmen journalists acquainted with innovations of filming and editing of TT reports, arrangements of lights and record of the sound. Special session was dedicated to highlighting of the sport events. The participants prepared short reports using the knowledge received during the seminar.

The Government of Turkmenistan pays large attention to improvement of work of national mass media. In this context, successful cooperation is established with the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, which organized training courses for specialist working in electronic, broadcasting and printing media of Turkmenistan and for the students of relative universities.

Highlighting the role of international cooperation in information sphere, the Head of the OSCE Centre, Ambassador Natalya Drozd noted that recently, Turkmenistan asserted itself as organizer of international forums in different aspects of global issues. In this regard, the role of media press society in quality informational coverage of these important events, formation of positive international image of the country, focusing of the interest of foreign readers and spectators in key aspects of internal and foreign policy of Turkmen State become more urgent. The Ambassador expressed the hope that knowledge received during the training and interested dialog would promote professional growth of the personnel of national TV.

After completion of the course, the participants were awarded with relative certificates.
