Delegation from Turkmenistan Meets with Head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, in Kazan
The delegation headed by the Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Legislation and its Norms, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, has arrived in Kazan to participate in the plenary session of the 9th International Economic Summit “Russia – Islamic World: KazanSummit–2017”, and met with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov.
The leader of Tatarstan thanked the delegation members for taking part in the forum and conveyed his gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, for specific emphasis placed on the issues of development of the bilateral cooperation with Tatarstan.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that Turkmenistan has been a strategic partner for Tatarstan: “Our peoples are bound with deep historical, spiritual and cultural ties, and fruitful commercial and economic relations.”
It was mentioned that in the recent years, new opportunities have opened up for cooperation, that must be used effectively. Specifically, there is a vast potential for developing ties in such areas as oil production; mechanical industry; energy; agriculture; pharmaceutics and healthcare; supply of chemicals and so on.
During the meeting, the parties stated the importance of the further development of Turkmenistan–Tatarstan cooperation, including that in the context of strengthening the friendship and mutual understanding between the Russian Federation and Turkmenistan.
