President of Turkmenistan conducts a videoconference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a working videoconference meeting with the cabinet ministers, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the heads of the ministries and departments concerned. Priority issues of the state policy, particularly the progress in seasonal agricultural activities and construction of social facilities, were considered during the videoconference.

The heads of the regional administrations reported, in particular, on the preparations for the cotton campaign and the winter crops sowing campaign. The reports also spotlighted the measures taken to improve social and living conditions of citizens and build various facilities in accordance with the national rural development programme and the progress in implementing the General Programme for Drinking Water Supply.

The projects of the training centre and indoor riding arena of the Ashgabat equestrian sports centre and the construction site layouts of a housing complex for 100 farms and a breeding complex for 600 horses were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on the measures taken to optimize activities of organisations and enterprises of the industrial sector of the national economy was presented during the videoconference. The information on the work done to complete the 12th and the 13th construction stages in Ashgabat, providing for the construction of a housing estate on A. Niyazov Street and a complex of new social and other facilities on Oguzkhan Street was presented. A number of the construction projects to be implemented in Ashgabat, including the project of a shopping centre on A. Niyazov Street, were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

The report on the progress in fulfilling the plans to promote the social policy and the national development programmes in the field of science, education, healthcare, sports and tourism and the preparations for the celebrations in honour of the Day of Health Industry Workers of Turkmenistan was presented.

The reports on the progress in implementing the oil and gas industry development programme and the ambitious investment projects in this industry, ongoing work and measures taken to further optimize activities in the communications sector and modernize its infrastructure and the current situation at banking institutions were presented.

Other state policy issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the videoconference meeting.
