President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the progress in implementing the national programmes, state policy issues and draft documents were discussed.
Opening the meeting and presenting its agenda, the President dwelt upon the forthcoming national holiday, which is celebrated each year in Turkmenistan on July 21 – the Day of Healthcare Workers, focusing on key aspects of the healthcare reform.
The reports on the preparations for the IV Turkmenistan-Russia Economic Forum, which will be held in the Russian city of Belgorod on August 7-9, the preparations for the first official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Moldova scheduled for July 24-25 and the results of the talks with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) were presented during the government meeting.
The information on the work on the transition to the national accounting and auditing system, meeting the international standards, was presented. The reports on the work of the Parliament aimed at modernizing the legal and regulatory framework, the preparations for a regular meeting of the Elders’ Council and the election to the Parliament of the fifth convocation were presented.
The reports on the progress in implementing the construction projects, seasonal agricultural activities, the measures taken to optimize activities of the Turkmen State Publishing Service, the ongoing work in the industrial sector of the national economy, the construction of Atamyrat-Ymamnazar section of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan railway were presented during the meeting.
The programme of international exhibitions, trade fairs, science conferences and festivals and the celebrations in honour of the national holidays and remarkable dates in the national calendar to be held in the second half of July was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. The action plan on road safety activities, which will be held across our country from September 1 to 30 under the motto “Road Safety – Our Safe Life” was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The draft Decree on the conferment of the title of Honoured Healthcare Worker of Turkmenistan was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov authorized the Ministry of Finance of Turkmenistan to sign an additional agreement with the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation.
The President signed the Resolution on the foundation of the National Nature Reserve in the Central Karakum and the construction of the buildings of the training centre and the indoor riding arena at the Ashgabat equestrian sports centre where sportsmen would be prepared for competitions, including horse racing, horse marathons and show jumping. The Order on the establishment of the interagency commission responsible for drafting the Industrial Development Programme of Turkmenistan for 2014-2020 and the approval of its membership was signed.
Other state policy issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
