Makhachkala Commercial Seaport has specified its near-term objectives. It includes the opening of motor and railroad ferry line with Turkmenistan as well as creation of the infrastructure for cruise shipping.

The Mirmol Network informs with the reference to the statement of Minister of Transport of the Republic of Dagestan Shirukhan Gajimuradov that Makhachkala Port has processed 4.7 million tons of cargo in 2020, which is 3% more than in 2019. Transshipment of only bulk cargoes has increased by 4% last year and made 4.3 million tons.

Cargo turnover of Makhachkala Commercial Seaport is more than 50% of total cargo turnover of 14 Russian ports in the Caspian Sea.

The Organization Committee of International economic rating “League of Best Enterprises of Russia” has awarded Makhachkala Port with national certificate “Best Russian Enterprise of the Year” and its General Director was awarded with personal certificate “Best Russian Manager of the Year”.
