President of Turkmenistan convenes a digital working meeting

Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has conducted a digital working meeting with the Ashgabat khyakim and Cabinet Deputy Chairman, responsible for the Turkmen capital to discuss the capital city’s further development, modernization of its infrastructure, as well as preparations for the upcoming important occasions.  

Ashgabat khyakim R. Gandymov was the first to report to the nation’s leader on the state of affairs in the capital, and continuing comprehensive redevelopment efforts. The report also covered preparations for the 30th anniversary of the native country’s sacred independence, and ongoing steps to speed up the construction of facilities due to open officially to mark the glorious historic milestone. 

The khyakim also addressed the ongoing winter preparations and measures taken to keep the city’s utilities properly maintained to ensure they run smoothly and continuously. 

In the report follow-up comments, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the need to exercise strict control over the quality of construction works and timely completion of the buildings and facilities scheduled to open officially in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.  

While on the subject, the head of state pointed out that the 150,000m³/day water treatment plant project should be completed on schedule, and in compliance with high standards of quality. 

Summarizing the foregoing, the nation’s leader emphasized that the capital city of Ashgabat should be a shining example of a modern, dynamically developing and highly livable city in all aspects, including its architectural splendor, socio-economic, road and transport, and utility infrastructure, urban amenities, and a comfortable, clean and litter-free urban environment. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave the khyakim a number of concrete issue-related instructions. 

Then Cabinet Deputy Chairman Ch. Purchekov informed the head of state about the implementation progress of construction projects ongoing in the capital. 

The tender processes for a recreation area project on the shores of Altyn Köl Lake and a new cultural center project in Ashgabat are well under way.  

The head of state also commissioned to organize presentations on new urban development projects that would be examined in detail soon. 

During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov appointed A. Saparov Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction Operations, signed the relevant Decree and submitted it digitally to the Vice-Premier. 

Bringing the working meeting to a close, the nation’s leader wished the participants every success in tackling the tasks aimed to worthily celebrate the glorious 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, to facilitate Ashgabat’s comprehensive development in the long term, and to provide an optimal living environment for its residents.
