Russian diesel locomotives arrived in Turkmenistan
The Ashgabat locomotive depot was replenished with new Russian-made diesel locomotives.
As previously it was reported Open Joint Stock Company “Demiryollary” (“Demirýollary” AGPJ ), the operator of the railway transport of Turkmenistan, purchased from JSC Transmashholding (TMH) a passenger diesel locomotive TEP70BS and a mainline freight locomotive 2TE25KM.
The locomotives were delivered to Turkmenistan in accordance with contracts signed in the fall of 2020.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays special attention to the development of the country's transport and logistics capabilities. Among the priority tasks set by the head of state for the representatives of the department is the use of the full potential of modern railway infrastructure facilities, increasing the throughput of modernized railways, and increasing the volume of cargo transportation.
The newly arrived diesel locomotives will occupy a leading position on the railways of Turkmenistan.
