On December 10, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Ricardo Martínez Vázquez, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality and the International Day of Neutrality. During the talks, the diplomats discussed the current agenda of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the prospects for further interaction between Turkmenistan and Spain.

It was noted that two countries effectively cooperate within international and regional structures, primarily the UN, as evidenced by their practice of mutual support for initiatives promoted by both sides.

The sides noted the importance of intensifying partnership in a number of priority areas, including the promotion of educational programs and learning Spanish.
