Turkmenistan intends to broaden the scope of its cooperation with the United Nations, seeking focused attention and substantive engagement from its specialized bodies in shaping and implementing national, regional, and global programs. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the Peace and Trust Forum held in Ashgabat, dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.
“I want to particularly emphasize that the UN views our country as a responsible and effective partner in addressing the most important global and regional issues, in fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals, and in promoting fair and balanced approaches to international cooperation across the widest range of areas,” stressed the head of state.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov placed special emphasis on the fact that the constructive and creative impact of Turkmenistan’s neutral status on ensuring international and regional stability and security is confirmed by the growing support for Turkmen neutrality within the United Nations.
