During the meeting, they reaffirmed Turkmenistan's commitment to further strengthening its strategic partnership with the United Nations, including in the context of jointly implementing the objectives set forth in UN General Assembly resolutions adopted in 2025 and initiated by Turkmenistan.
The diplomats praised the active work of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, summarized the past year, and discussed next steps for the current year.
The parties also discussed the promotion of program and project activities in the regional dimension with the participation of all five Central Asian countries. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of views on the implementation of the President of Turkmenistan's initiative to establish a University of Peace and Neutrality in cooperation with the UN.
As is known, the Turkmen leader announced this initiative during the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Neutrality Day, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which took place on December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat.
This initiative, supported by all participants of the International Forum, was enshrined in the Ashgabat Declaration adopted following the International Forum and distributed as an official document of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
The parties agreed to continue active work in this direction.
